Using a good pair of hiking boots

During a mountain hike or a simple stroll, our feet and ankles are most used, so we should pamper them to avoid injury and discomfort. At ValetMont, we have selected outdoor shoes for hiking, walking or trail hiking. We stock models dedicated to men, women and children. Foot shape and size differs from one individual to another, and from a man to a woman. Therefore, we offer versatile, durable models of walking shoes and hiking boots in an affordable price range. Outdoor shoes from Kimberfeel, Salomon and TSL will be with you on all your adventures.

But how do you choose a pair of outdoor shoes?

It really depends on what you want to use the shoes for. There's no need to be over-equipped with massive footwear if you simply want to stroll along easily paths. Runners should opt for a soft and light trail shoe that will give good stability. There are walking boots that are low, medium or high against your ankle, depending on the need for support — something especially important you love very steep paths. As you can see, the use of the outdoor boot really is the first consideration. For simple hiking, a hiking boot with low or medium stem will be enough. Then think about the components — the sole, the stone guard (toe cap) and the waterproof membrane. If you only hike in summer, there's probably no need for a pair of hiking boots with a waterproof membrane as the membrane reduces the evacuation of moisture build-up from perspiration. To be comfortable, consider trying hiking boots that are slightly larger than your usual shoes. When walking downhill, your toes should not touch the tip of the shoe. It's your food that must support the weight of your body and not your poor toes. Also think about the thickness of your socks and soles.
